How to Disarm Tripwire Traps in Amnesia the Bunker
The main function of the Chain Cutters is to open certain doors that are locked tightly with chains. However, it can also be used to disarm traps.
Thus, you can disarm tripwire traps in Amnesia The Bunker by using the Chain Cutters tool and cutting the tripwire.
Simply open your inventory and bring out the Cutters tool. Get as close to the tripwire as you can without activating it, and use LMB to cut it. This will cut the wire and disarm the trap.
Then, you can pick up the grenade or flare that was there and keep it in your inventory.
Keep in mind that this won’t work for most doors as they’ll have the tripwire on the opposite side and there’s no way to get on that side unless you open the door and trigger the trap. Instead, the Cutters will primarily help you cut tripwire traps that are on the ground.
Using the Chain Cutters to disarm traps is extremely helpful. If the traps don’t go off, they won’t make noise. And if they don’t make noise, they won’t attract the Beast.
Overall, it’s essential to disarm any traps you find if you want to navigate the bunker quietly and avoid the Beast.
Also, the first time you cut a tripwire with the Chain Cutters, you’ll unlock the Tinkerer Achievement and Trophy.
